Hoveringham (No.3) wearing its old number, L5, on shed at Gelert's Farm Works

This 7 ton 48hp Ruston & Hornsby 4wDM (Model 48DL - Builder's number 370555 of 1953) was supplied new for work at the gravel pits of Hoveringham Gravels at Holme Pierrepont in Nottinghamshire. It was purchased for preservation in 1980 and arrived at the WHR(P) in July 1987. It has been restored in the striking orange Hoveringham Gravels livery with red buffer plates and ballast weights, although for some years after its restoration it was maroon, with a Ruston and Hornsby decal on the cab back.

Currently it wears its old Hoveringham number on the cab back - "L5"
