LNWR Junction

Jump to: navigation, search

Originally opened on 1st June 1881, this replaced a temporary station nearer to the Crimea tunnel.

One of a number of stations in the Blaenau area, this was the termination of the LNWR line from Llandudno Junction. The station was immediately over the road from Stesion Fein, the FR station, and provided more traffic than the GWR Exchange station. Although closed when the new Blaenau Central came into service, the main station building still stands, although much of the associated yard area has been sold off.

The standard gauge lines between the LNWR and GWR stations were not joined until the 1960's.
