Summary[edit]
Photo: FR Archives.
A 1920s view from the FR main line at Minffordd station looking down onto the Maeofferen wharf. In the centre slate is being loaded into standard gauge wagons and the way in which the standard gauge and narrow gauge tracks are arranged at different heights is clearly seen. In the middle distance coal wagons are standing on the line above the chutes and on the right is the Flour Shed, destroyed by a spontaneous explosion of accumulated dust not long after this photo was taken. The extent of the slate stocks on the wharf is worthy of note.
