This is the well-named Ugly Bridge or Pont Hyll; originally it was a little arch with low parapets over which cattle stepped their dainty way. It had to be rebuilt to modern standards with high parapets on which one cannot sit; the stone facing was put on in a regrettably pseudo-patchwork pattern. Hence the name.
