Infrastructure Department

The Infrastructure Department was created when Fred Howes retired in 2010. Initially called External Engineering, the department has brought together the S&T, Permanent Way, Buildings, Electrical & Estates and Line Side Management (LSM) sections under a single senior manager, Julian Harrison. The Head of Infrastructure reports directly to the General Manager.

The Department is currently based at Minffordd Yard (Buildings, Electrical & Estates, LSM, Permanent Way (FR Section) and Head of Infrastructure), Boston Lodge (S & T) and Dinas (Permanent Way (WHR Section)).

A new office building is under construction on the site of the old hostel. When it is complete, the S & T department will move to Minffordd, allowing some of their areas at Boston Lodge to be used for other purposes.
