This road bridge was rebuilt by Caernarvonshire (sic) County Council in 1933. It has a chicane which is notorious for the speeding motorists who make life perilous for railway dry-stone-wallers, even with adequate road signs. Sometimes, working nearby, one has the gloomy satisfaction of hearing a pair of cars go 'crump', but this interrupts work when you have to turn out to wave your First Aid Certificate.
Strictly speaking this should be called either Pont Wernlas Ddu or Werlas Ddu Bridge.
