N.B. BEWARE Certain place names are used frequently in the area. One example being Bont Newydd. This is a place referred in Boyd, said to be located near to Rhiw Plas/Minffordd Cemetery. It also refers in the form Bontnewydd to a village and request halt on the Welsh Highland - some 15 miles northwest..
Main stations are the section headers. Halts (public request stops) are indented. For other places of interest see the locations list. See other notes at bottom of page

Rhyd Ddu formerly South Snowdon, or Snowdon <A>
Not all trains ran to and from Porthmadog. A service operated from Caernarfon to Hafod y Llyn in 2009, to Pont Croesor in 2010 and to Porthmadog (Harbour Station) in 2011. However, in that year usually only the first out in the morning and last back at night used Porthmadog, the rest started and finished at Pont Croesor. From 2012 all trains run through.
- Pen-y-mount Junction with WHHR. Station only on WHHR. Not currently a station on WHR/RhE main line.

Note that throughout this wiki the names Portmadoc and Porthmadog have been variously used; the first being the older name whilst the second is the more modern and, currently, official title. In older documentation there have been other spellings, including Portmadock, and Port Madoc
