There are two major structures at Bryn y Felin, an over bridge and an underbridge. The road (over) bridge is referred to as Bryn y Felin Road bridge or the A498 Road bridge and carries that road from Beddgelert south towards Tremadog and thence by the A487 to Porthmadog
This bridge underwent a rebuild in during 2008, when a major diversion had to be created for the road traffic. Rail construction traffic was halted for a short period. This didn't prove too much of a problem as it was planned in advance and much needed material was transported beyond this site to the required points on the line.
The term Afon Glaslyn Bridge is used for the river crossing, keeping it similar to the two near identical bridges further along the line
Following completion of the rebuild, Upnor Castle continued to provide traction power for the construction work
