Hugh Eaves became a footplate volunteer, firstly at Towyn, and subsequently on the Festiniog in his early twenties, whilst qualifying for his professional career as an accountant. He became treasurer to the FR Co. in 1975 and a director in 1987, and finally becoming Deputy Chairman in 1993. He gave up all posts in 1999 because of illness.[1][2]
