From Festipedia, hosted by the FR Heritage Group

On this day, John Lloyd, a miner from Penrhyndeudraeth, travelled on the 10pm departure from Harbour Station.

According to a company report "He got out of an open carriage at Minffordd Junction, on the wrong side, and walked over the edge of the parpet of the Cambrian Railway bridge there, falling onto the platform below...." It is presumed the trainhad stopped before coming into the station properly.

He died a few days later, from injuries (3rd September)[1]

Boyd further comments on if the practice of locking doors on both sides was being carried out. [2]
