FESTINIOG RAILWAY SOCIETY LTD.

Special train Paddington-Minffordd Saturday 30th March 1957 The Directors of the Festiniog Railway Society Limited extend a cordial welcome to members and guests on this, the first specially organized excursion to view the efforts of the Festiniog Railway Company aided by the volunteers in the rehabilitation of Britain’s oldest public narrow-gauge railway.

For those interested in time keeping a detailed time and mileage chart will be found on page 4.

At Birmingham, Shrewsbury, Wolverhampton and Ruabon passengers are particularly requested to board the train upon being asked to do so by a railway official. General Information:

The Train Office is situated in coach 'E’ where information will be available as to connecting trains for the return journey and where membership forms, car and lapel badges, guide books, etc., will be available.

Whilst members are attending the annual general meeting in the British Legion Hall from 7-30 p.m. onwards, P. B. Whitehouse, Esq., the well-known authority on narrow-gauge railways, will give a film or lantern show on his favourite topic. This will take place at the Commercial Café in the High Street at Portmadoc at 7-30 p.m. and 9-0 p.m. In addition to the film show there is the usual Saturday night dance at the Town Hall at which visitors will be welcome, and the local cinema is situated near the Western Region station. The Directors and Officers of the Festiniog Railway Society Limited extend their grateful thanks to the Chief Commercial Manager and his staff at Paddington, the Motive Power Superintendent at Swindon, and the Public Relations and Publicity Officer and his staff at Paddington and the Directors and Officers of the Festiniog Railway Company without whose splendid co-operation this excursion could not have taken place.
