SPECIAL TRAINS, 18th APRIL 1959 in connection with the Annual General Meeting of the FESTINIOG RAILWAY SOCIETY LIMITED
A special train will run from Paddington to Minffordd on Saturday, 18th April, in connection with the Annual General Meeting of the Festiniog Railway Society, Ltd., and will return from Portmadoc to Paddington overnight to arrive on Sunday morning. Timings are not yet firm, but will be approximately as follows:-

The train will be hauled from Paddington to Ruabon by "Castle" class locomotive No. 5069, 'Isambard Kingdom Brunel', and from Ruabon to Minffordd by two 90XX class 4-4-0's. (1959 is the centenary of the death of Brunel.)
On the outward journey a cold lunch will be available at a cost of 7/3d. per head, inclusive of gratuities. This lunch must be ordered and paid for in advance, and tickets for it will be forwarded with travel tickets. For those not requiring lunch, light refreshments will be available at the bar throughout the journey. Breakfast on the outward journey and supper on the return will be available without prior reservation, and will be paid for individually on the train.
On the Festiniog Railway two special trains will run from Minffordd to Tan-y-Bwlch in connection with the special, one consisting of "Taliesin" and the principal bogie stock, and the other of "Prince" and the four-wheelers.
