The revival of the once dormant Festiniog Railway is the story of courage and adventure in the twentieth century. Few who saw the track overgrown with trees and bushes, the broken and rotting stock before re-opening day could have imagined that by 1966 the line was not only carrying more passengers than ever before but was building brand new coaches and adding to its stud of active locomotives!

Newest member of the stud, ‘Blanche’ awaiting her F.R. livery at Boston Lodge works.
