The goal of the Festiniog Railway is to reopen to the original terminus at Blaenau Festiniog and this means building completely new track to bridge the gap broken into the old line by the waters of a new man-made lake. A new narrow gauge railway line is a massive undertaking for which much public support is still needed, nevertheless present trends show that there is now no doubt that the trains will again run past Tan-y-Bwlch, through Dduallt into the high hills.
Double Fairlie ‘Merddin Emrys’ in immaculate condition. With her sister engine she is the only locomotive of this type hauling passengers today.
