Description

Blaenau Ffestiniog Central Station, with train to Bala

View westward, to buffer-stops; terminus of ex-GWR line from Bala, closed 4/1/60. A new station was opened on this site on 25/5/82 to serve as the terminus of the line from Llandudno Junction, extended from the former North Station on 1/4/64 by a line built to serve Trawsfynydd Nuclear Power Station, also as the terminus of the revived narrow-gauge Ffestiniog Railway from Portmadoc. The train for Bala is headed by a 57XX 0-6-0 Pannier tank engine.
