Summary

Caption: Former Stesion Fein Station site during rebuilding
Date: April 1976
Location: Blaenau Ffestiniog
Photographer: David Stowell

From Geographa site The old Ffestiniog Railway Stesion Fein. A similar view to SH6946 : Old Track Bed, Festiniog Railway showing the site of the former passenger interchange with the standard gauge LNWR station. The marks from the old sleepers can still be seen in the grass in the foreground and the old water tank is still standing in this 1976 vintage picture. The locomotive on the plinth acting as an advert for the operational length of the FR is Princess. At this time the FR trackbed heading away from the photographer was being used as a haul road for moving and re-landscaping some of the slate waste tips above the town.
