  • Original Caption: Blanche has just come across the level-crossing at Penrhyndeudraeth and is now passing over the stone embankment en route to Tan-y-Bwlch with the first train of the day. The house on the right was known as Plas Meini and was owned by the father of one of the regular London Area Group volunteers, as was the house just below it, Pantyfynnon, where we often stayed during working parties. As the house was semi-derelict at the time, it was hardly luxury accommodation!
