G. L. Molesworth

From Festipedia, hosted by the FR Heritage Group

G. L. Molesworth was Chief Engineer of the Ceylon Railway, and made a report on the Festiniog Railway which found its way to Australia. [1]

Gauge[edit]

Molesworth promoted the narrow gauge in India. He developed a set of designs for rolling stock on the 2' 6" gauge. He persuaded Victoria to adopt this gauge for its narrow gauge lines instead of earlier plans to use the 2' 0" gauge, based on the Festiniog Railway which uses the 1' 11½" gauge.

Family[edit]

Guilford Lindsey Molesworth died in March 17, 1925. [2]
