Henry Owen (b.1813)

From Festipedia, hosted by the FR Heritage Group

Henry, or Harry, Owen is the man in the Bleasdale photo of Penrhyn Station in 1887. This appears in The Spooner Album as plate 23. At the time the photo was taken he was already 73 having been born in Tanymorfa in 1813. His early life is unknown to us but he was a Station Master (probably Penrhyn) in 1871 and still there in 1891.

He first appears in FR records in March 1869 as Station Master at Penrhyn. The 1871 census shows him living at 4, Mount Hazel. He was still a Station Master at Penrhyn (but living at Shop Newydd) in September 1893 by which time he would have been 80.

The Bleasdale photograph of him at Penrhyn can be found at [1932]
