Template:Link/doc

Usage[edit]

This template produces an external link with the URL as its first argument, and the text to be displayed as its second argument. If no first argument is given, the second argument is displayed with no external link.

This template is not safe to use if immediately preceded or followed by one or more apostrophes, and if the display text begins or ends with an apostrophe. To avoid the problem, put "<nowiki></nowiki>" between any immediately-adjacent apostrophes and the "{{link|...}}".

Examples[edit]

{{link|http://example.com|home page}} produces "home page".
{{link||home page}} produces "home page".
''{{link||'Ouch' is not 'oof'}}'' is not right, because it produces "Ouch' is not 'oof". Instead, use ''<nowiki></nowiki>{{link||'Ouch' is not 'oof'}}<nowiki></nowiki>'', which produces "'Ouch' is not 'oof'".
