Template:Tag description/doc

This is a documentation subpage for Template:Tag description (see that page for the template itself).
It contains usage information, categories and other content that is not part of the original template page.

Usage[edit]

This template is used to format in a consistent way tag descriptions at Special:Tags. The first unnamed parameter is the description, and the next unnamed parameters are the filters using the tag, up to three. Example:

{{tag description|This edit blanked or replaced the page entirely.|654|789}} gives:

This edit blanked or replaced the page entirely.
Tagged by filters 654 (hist · log) and 789 (hist · log).

For inactive tags, that have not been used by any filter for more than 30 days, the parameter inactive=yes may be used.
