On display at Caernarfon

Watkin is a 3 ft gauge De Winton vertical boilered locomotive. It was built in 1893 for the Penmaenmawr granite quarry, where it worked until 1944. Purchased for preservation in 1966 it was later loaned to the National Trust and displayed in their museum at Penrhyn Castle. In 2019 it was removed from Penrhyn Castle and taken to Caernarfon where it is now on display in the station entrance hall.
