Born August 1873 in Ruabon.

Joined FR as a signalman at Blaenau Ffestiniog on 5th December 1899. The 1901 census show him living at 23 Glanypwll Road, Blaenau Festiniog. In 1911 he was living at Railway Cottage, Glanypwll (maybe the crossing house). He is known to have worked Box No.3 in June 1904. Left FR on 20th January 1915 for Royal Army Medical Corps (No. 29080). Served in England and injured carrying a stretcher. He returned to the FR as signalman at Duffws on 13th May 1919. Later a guard and shunter and worked with the FR until 1946.

He married Annie Watkins in 4th qu of 1894 and they had at least 5 children. They seem to have moved to Blaenau about 1898.

There is also a William Lloyd who is foreman Porter at Duffws through most of the 1920s. This is probably the same person.[1]
