Day Log/1872-10-28

From Festipedia, hosted by the FR Heritage Group

On this day, Robert Roberts, a quarryman of Dolgarreddu had an accident.

He was trying to cross between two wagons, of an extremely long train that was blocking the main road crossing.

Company staff had tried to warn him not to try to cross.

He placed a foot in between the coupling blocks. At that moment there was movement of the wagons, and the coupling blocks crushed his foot when they came together.[1]

At this point in time, the road crossing was still on the level.[2]
