Day Log/1876-10-11

From Festipedia, hosted by the FR Heritage Group

On this day, one of four reported accidents, in a 3 month period from October to December 1876, took place

Seven, empty, slate wagons and two, loaded, coal wagons ran away from Duffws, caused by the guard (un-named) not securing them. They collided with the stop block at Glan y Pwll Junction. The slate wagons and adjoing fencing and walls were damaged in the incident, but apparently the coal wagons were not. [1]
