Day Log/1902-07-03

From Festipedia, hosted by the FR Heritage Group

On this date, an accident was recorded at Tan y Bwlch at 2:30pm

A loaded goods wagon behind the down slate train left the rails entering Tan y Bwlch station and derailed another wagon. It was caused by the contents, comprised of heavy boxes being too much on one side and too near the end of the wagon instead of being distributed, and the slate train not obeying speed for the station and then letting go, which caused the last wagon to jump the rails in the xxxxx. The wagons were unhooked and the slate train went on. There was a delay of at least an hour to three trains.

There was no damage to the wagons or permanent way except four chairs broken.[1]
