ACCIDENT ON FESTINIOG RAILWAY. GRANITE SLAB FALLS ON LINE.

On Saturday afternoon traffic was interrupted on the Festiniog and Portmadoc Narrow Gauge railway. It appears that a large granite slab, weighing about three tons, was being conveyed to Portmadoc on a truck attached to the slate train. When the train was going round a curve near Dduallt Station, the granite slab broke loose from its fastenings and fell on the railway. It completely blocked the line at that spot for about two hours. It being Saturday some difficulty was experienced in getting workmen to the place to remove the stone which had to be blasted before it could be cleared away. Traffic resumed on the line about 4 o'clock.
