Summary
Caption: | Merddin Emrys hauling an up train in the woods above Cei Mawr. Carriage 22 is the second carriage in this rake and shows why it got the name 'Banana' coach. |
Date: | 17 August 1964 |
Photographer: | Geoff Plumb |
Original Caption: Merddin Emrys takes to the woods above the huge Cei Mawr embankment and really gets into its stride with the 14:15 train from Porthmadog to Tan-y-Bwlch. The engine is carrying a temporary paper headboard on the smokebox, "Zoey Goldstraw", apparently fireman Peter Wood's girlfriend, and applied by two loco department volunteers with Driver Evan Davies' permission!
