John Roberts (I)

John Roberts was an early locomotive cleaner on the Festiniog Railway. He was killed on 5th January 1865 (the opening day for fare paying passengers) when he jumped from a moving locomotive at Boston Lodge, tripped, and was hit by the tender and a following carriage.[1]
