Contractor - invited to tender for the Dinas loop line in 1880.
The 1861 census shows someone with the same name living at Talybont bach near Dduallt and described as a railway platelayer. As the Railway seemed to prefer him for the Dinas job in 1880 it could be because he had worked for them before.
Continued research has shown this man is probably not the same as shown in the census
