Peckett & Sons

This company was a locomotive builder in Bristol. The full name was Peckett & Sons Ltd and their factory was at Atlas Works, Deep Pit Road, St George, Bristol. The company built The Peckett which the FR acquired from Harrogate Gas Works and was sometimes known as 'Volunteer'. Its wheels were sent by the FR to Pecketts in 1958 for flange and wheel re-profiling. Roger Goss a member of the Boston Lodge staff from 1963 to 1971 learnt his trade with Pecketts. They built their last steam locomotive in 1958 and were taken over in 1961.
