Point lever

From Festipedia, hosted by the FR Heritage Group

Point Levers are generally used to operate points that are not controlled from signal boxes or ground frames.

Types[edit]

Throwover[edit]

A weight on the lever holds it in position, whether normal or reverse. The colouring of the lever does not tell if the lever is in the normal position or in the reverse.

The red handle of the lever has as its background the red coupling rod of the locomotive, making it hard to see.
