Publicity Officer FR Company and Society 1959 - 1965 or later

R. H. Gregory was generally known as Greg. His posts were honorary. He was given the job in 1957 of canvassing coach tour operators and in about 1959 took over from John "Blanco" White as publicity officer. He was a guard and general dogsbody at Portmadoc and spent most of four seasons (1960 - 1963) on the railway in a number of capacities. Over the winter 1962-3 he was busy with the FR centenary celebrations. He was conspicuous as guard on the centenary train in period dress.

Professionally he was employed by the Ian Allan organisation on the publicity side. By mutual arrangement he could be loaned to the FR when need arose. [1]
