Is the statement that the WC on the East wall of the stables in front of BL cottages 1 &2 was demolished in the late 1950s correct? I recall using one near their as late as about 1972. MarkTemple (talk) 17:28, 28 September 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

It's not a well photographed location(!), but iBase 804 from 1965 shows a substanstial hedge around the "garden" in front of No.1 and no sign of a WC. Edward Harris (talk) 12:51, 29 September 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Perhaps the WC I remember was the one at the other end of Boston Lodge Cottages which is marked on Dan Wilson's 1963 map. The memory is getting unreliable. It was used by campers in the Sandpit, The Halt Room "hostel" and those who parked at BL halt and slept in their cars! It was also their closest water supply.MarkTemple (talk) 15:36, 29 September 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

The FR Magazine arrived today with Bob Zeepvat's article about the Boston Lodge buidings. He writes "Its eastern end was coverted to an outside lavatory for Cottage No.2, which survived until the late 1960s or early 1970s". So you had remembered correctly.
