Having worked in this building I can add the following info:

The building to the east with the flat metal roof if the Oil Stores and is not part of the electrical stores. It originally had a pitched roof, at right angles to the electrical stores, but that was in a very poor state and was removed by the New Company in the 1960's with the flat roof. You can just see the bare rafters in the 1963 view of the yard Boston_Lodge. I think from this I might have been the end of the Saw Mill that stretched back across the current Den.

Internally it is divided in to three areas. A battery room to the east, the electrical stores and workshop on the bottom yard side (it and the battery room accessible through the bottom yard porch). The old porch then accesses a locker room on the north side.

Also contains a large attic space for storage.

Bottom Yard Porch[edit]

This was added in the early 1990's. If you look through some of the 1993 Gala photos you can see the unclad breeze-block construction.

Thanks Edward, I'll add a note. I understand this porch might be removed according to the current plans. --George Cash (talk) 10:13, 11 May 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]
