We have bolster set 156-9 which no one seems to know about. Is this the old Co. numbering for 136-8? The photos look the same. Heritagejim (talk) 15:54, 2 June 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

According to TGBC, 156-9 is a bolster set converted from Hudson Crate wagons. This appears to match the picture on this page supposedly of 131-3. I submit that this pic is actually 156-9, unless there were more Hudson bolsters. Whatever it is it has no connection with Boston Lodge in 1875!

According to Boyd (usual reservations) Iron Bolsters were numbered in a separate series 1-12. TGBC (and the 1981 stock list in FRM 93) shows 131-3 as original FR nos 9-11 so that means they could be original Iron Bolsters. Pity there isn't a pic.

Wooden bolsters were in the general goods stock as 64-77, 82-87, 103-4, 106-9. The first two pics in the article therefore show some of these.

Obviously the first pic does not show a set of 3. As is explained, if a runner was needed between these wagons a slate wagon would be used. You can see in the first pic that this would work. The one thing that would not work would be to use a third bolster in the middle as this would support the load and restrict movement of curves. So the 3 wagons in the second pic would not have been used as a set.

These are good interesting pics though. In the upper one are there two Feldbahn bogie wagons in the BG? Presumably the ones on Brookes traffic. In the lower one is that the late unlamented carriage 21 behind? George Cash (talk) 16:06, 25 June 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I see the rebuilt wooden bolsters have now been renumbered 73 and 76. Does anyone know which one has the brake? George Cash (talk) 19:42, 26 January 2018 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Neither has a brake at present, there are plans to fit one vehicle in due course. Bruno (talk) 09:31, 29 January 2018 (GMT)
