Just to note that as far as I know Palmerston spent the entirety of it's time while under restoration in England from 1974 to 1987 at Klondyke Steam Club outside the village of Draycott-in-the-Clay in Staffordshire. With a short period (Half a year at Mike Hart's house) I suppose the reason the FR history books have always said Derbyshire was that the five strong consortium that bought Palmerston all worked at the Railway Technical Centre in Derby. Another possible reason was that the FR also forced the consortium to sign an agreement promising not to allow Palmerston to return to running order in Wales (it was feared Palmerston was bought by WH sympathisers... that agreement was later burnt inside Palmerston's firebox)

Apart from odd parts like work plates (I had one of the works plate on a shelf growing up!) and small bits that could be worked on from the garage hanging around our house as far as I know Palmerston didn't spend any time in Derby.
