I was led to believe at one time that the roof of Garnedd Tunnel was lined with the steel plating of an ex German U boat that was scrapped at Porthmadog... Any truth to this ??? Morthin (talk) 19:30, 17 October 2011 (UTC)

That is said to be correct although I doubt if it can now be verified. However, I have seen a photograph of a WW1 U boat beached just by Boston Lodge. I doubt you will find better evidence than that although there might just be a record in the FR Archives Heritagejim (talk) 19:40, 17 October 2011 (UTC)
