Ashover Light Railway

From Festipedia, hosted by the FR Heritage Group

The Ashover Light Railway was a 2 foot gauge narrow gauge railway in Derbyshire, England.

It was built in the 1920s using ex-War Department material, including Baldwin 10-12-D locomotives similar to Baldwin 590 and Baldwin 794. The engineer was Colonel Stephens.

The FR diesel locomotive Ashover is from this source.

There is a fledgling preservation movement at Ashover.
