David was a member of the FR Permanent Way gang from September 1975 to March 2000. One of his specialisms was maintaining the gang's power tools. He also looked after the department's collection of FR permanent way museum pieces. This collection of rails, chairs etc has sadly rarely been on public view. See pictures on the Rail Types page.
