Day Log/1869-07-26

From Festipedia, hosted by the FR Heritage Group

On this day The Festiniog Railway Act 1869 received the royal assent. It enabled the line to be double tracked throughout (never invoked), and do a few other things. The full plans can be viewed at Dolgellau Record Office (Ref. Z/CD118). This Act repealed the earlier Act of 1832 and Act of 1838, though parts of the former were contained in a schedule to this act. It should be remembered that other Acts (irrespective of bearing on the FR directly), also apply.[1]
