H. Arthur Yorke

Lt.-Col. Sir Horatio Arthur Yorke was born on 3 June 1848. He was the son of Venerable Hon. Henry Reginald Yorke and Flora Elizabeth Campbell. He married Rebecca Caroline Garstin, daughter of Reverend Anthony Garstin, on 26 July 1893 He died on 10 December 1930, age 82.

He participated in the Afghan War, and the Nile Expedition. He was invested as a Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.). He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the Royal Engineers . He was Chief Inspector of Railways, Board of Trade between 1900 and 1913[1] [2]
