John Babbage joined the FR PW department at the end of 1967 (October) in time for the push to Dduallt. His experience as a farm mechanic and his Landrover were noted as being useful. [1] He worked particularly with Fred Howes in 1968 - 1970 in improving the ride of the track and track maintenance methods and equipment. After leaving the FR in early September 1970, he farmed nearby until he died in a farm accident in 2013. [2]
