An article in the Illawarra Times (of N. S. Wales, quoting a UK paper (Railway Times), says that the FR had curves of 2, 3 and 4 chains radius.

There would appear to be many 2 chain curves, with Tyler's Curve originally and exceptionally being 1.75 chains, later eased to 2.40 chains.

Thus the minimum main line radius was 1.75 chains now increased to 2 chains (and not 2.40 chains).

The maximum Rail cant of a 2 chain curve was said to be 2½ inches for a speed of 8 miles an hour.
