Boyd states that the previous (original) weigh house was 'nearer Minffordd', but he doesn't state where, and such a location would make no sense before the exchange yard was built. The Spooner Album says it was originally at Port which does make sense. But why move it? At the Port end of the Cob it would be on the level - maybe they moved it to BL so the wagons could be run past the weigh house by gravity?
