Usage[edit]

This template provides the for all File pages.
The message is not shown if the page does not exist, to avoid distracting from the "use the upload form" message (which is provided by MediaWiki:Newarticletext).

Hiding the message[edit]

This template is marked with the CSS id and CSS class name ".file-namespace-editnotice", so that editors can apply their own CSS customisation if they wish, in particular to hide it. To hide the message, add

#file-namespace-editnotice { display: none !important; }

into Special:Mypage/skin.css, which redirects to your current skin's CSS file (open in new tab/window to see).
