Dr Paul Holmes, is one of the medical members of the Ffestiniog Railway Medical Service (Gwasanaeth Meddygol Rheilffordd Ffestiniog) and an inspired railway modeller. His model of Dinas (Rhiwbryfdir, near Blaenau) in 1869, accurate down to the very rocks, sets a standard for realism. His 7mm scale model of the first Double Fairlie, Little Wonder appearing, both chimneys smoking with appropriate puffs and sounds, fires flashing from its two D-shaped fireboxes, hauling a train of Mark 1b and Mark 2 Quarrymen's carriages is an apparition from another world. The model also has side-tank Small Englands and Welsh Pony in its original form with a weatherboard and no cab.
