Gherkin

From Festipedia, hosted by the FR Heritage Group

Affectionally known as the "Gherkin", the Launceston Steam Railway's prototype diesel electric railcar bogie incorporates parts from former Post Office Railway motors and wheelsets.

It attended the Quirks & Curiosities even in May 2010, where Wagon 63 was borrowed to carry the rest of the kit required to make it run. It made a useful contribution as transport for a number of people between Boston Lodge and Harbour Station.
