With this template, "This template was added 2020-03-07 16:32; two weeks from then is 2020-03-21 16:32." always shows today's date and two weeks from today's date, regardless of when the template was added. RedDragon (Send me a telegram) 16:34, 7 March 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]

There is no fault. The template is working correctly. As it says on the template page, it must always be substituted. So you put:
{{subst:Deletion proposed|reason}}
If you put {{Deletion proposed|reason}} (i.e. without the subst:) the date will be generated when you view the page so you will get the effect you report. If you include the subst:, the date is generated when you save the page and will never change. --Peter Harrison (talk) 17:24, 7 March 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]
