User:Keith/Locations

From Festipedia, hosted by the FR Heritage Group

This table is a base reference table only It indicates stations and locations running from Caernarfon to Blaenau.
The left ID# number (which is being removd) was purely to aide in keeping the table in line - they appear nowhere else, and may change as locations are added.
The status is self explanatory

It is now split to a number of pages

  • Page 1 - Caernarfon to Dinas - i.e. phase 1 of the rebuild
  • Page 2 - Dinas to Waunfawr - i.e. phase 2 of the rebuild
  • Page 3 - Waunfawr to Rhyd Ddu - i.e. phase 3 of the rebuild
  • Page 4 - Rhyd Ddu to Cresor - i.e. northern part of phase 4 of the rebuild
  • Page 5 - Cresor to Porthmadog - i.e. southern part of phase 4 of the rebuild
  • Page 6 - Porthmadog to Tan-y-Bwlch- i.e. southern part of line
  • Page 7 - Tan-y-Bwlch to Blaenau Ffestiniog - i.e. northern part of line

Very Short History, not quite chronologically, and no explanations

  • Phase One was built; not quite reaching "OB1". Measured. Then Caernarfon Headshunt was extended
  • Phase Two had a map published with chainages on. It got built and the actual chainages varied - known, and allowable.
  • Phase Three used same map and the distances varied again.

Then uinng a number system, the bridges, crossings, etc were marked from "20.00" point at Caernarfon

  • Phase Four used same map and the distances varied again. Big discrepancy in the end.
  • Then distance was measured in imperial units as well - starting at Port and Caernarfon!

All confusing to follow. However, the pages linked here try to put all that information together
